Forums:

I hope the title has got you interested. A clown in a silver Golf V170ENB had a go at the group twice last night on Cranes Lane. I have reported this to Lancashire Police and have an appointment on Friday at 5pm at Skelmersdale.

I will need some contact details from anyone who was out last night and saw what happened. I would think a name and a phone number would be sufficient, either reply via the forum or text me your details to 07753 496966.

There are good and bad motorists and good and bad cyclists, this guy endangered us all.

Thanks

Steve Depport

I've sent you a text Steve. Glad someone remembers the reg plate. I was trying to remember it but couldn't. Absoloute idiots, they were all smoking weed as well, I was within a foot of the drivers door and could see straight in through his open window.

Steve, I'll text you.

John L and myself were towards to back as they approached the Plough junction and John commented at the time that we were likely to have 'some games' from them as they pulled out...how right he was!

Moron: 'disused term for a person with the mental age between 8 & 12, and a common insult for a person considered stupid'  I think that is an insult to most 8 year olds!

Is this what happens when you don't have a responsible adult on the chainey!? Ha! Hope you're all ok and Lanc's Police do a decent job with whatever it was that occurred! It's such a shame that some people out there seem to think that the roads were built for them and them alone! :o( Ian, if you're struggling for a suitable term to describe such a person, I always find the term 'bellend' very descriptive and usually fitting! Keep safe!

Gareth.

When you see a car full of kid's or chav's you have a feeling something is going to happen plus i hope he get's done for his dodgy number plate being in German style font....John Lynch.

I had my appointment at Skem police station on Friday at 5.00pm, they already had all of the details I had phoned in. I went over the events again, gave them a map and the contact details you had given me.

The car is registered to a local guy who is not known to the police. The intend to pay him a visit early next week to ask him about the events. They will probably give him a warning on this occassion. In the future if he were to do something similar the warning would mean he would be likely to be prosecuted.

One or two of you may get a phone call to confirm your version of events. I will be informed of the outcome after the guy has been visited.

I am happy with the outcome, hopefully it will make this guy think twice and if not he will have had his warning.

Got a call yesterday from the PC handling this just to let me know she had not had time to see this guy yet but was going to try today. Pretty impressed to be kept up to date like this.

A final update on this one. The guy had only just bought the car when this happened so the V5 logbook had not been updated. This meant the Police were leaving messages for the wrong person/address. The system at the DVLA caught up and the Police paid the driver a surprise visit late last week.

He has had the law laid down to him, his parents have had a go at him too as they pay for his insurance and he has this incident logged against him.

I think that is a fair result and hopefully he will have learnt a valuable lesson.yes
