HMCC Club Rides & Go Ride Youth Section

Club runs, groups and meeting times

Club runs are the main focus of  that the Club and the reason it was created.

We run a series of rides, all of which start outside The Bicycle Lounge (formerly H Middleton Cycles), 46/48 Moor St., Ormskirk.

Sundays

Meet outside the shop at 9.00am with three groups:

Race Group: average 19-21mph with mileage from 70-100 mile

A Group: average 17-19mph with mileage from 50-80 mile

B Group: average 15-16mph with mileage from 35-60 mile

C Group: average 12-15mph with mileage from 35-50 mile

These rides are very social and friendly with a cafe stop every week for the B & C Groups.

Tuesdays

Meet outside the shop at 7.00pm year round.

From April to September it is run as a chain gang with two groups.

A - Group Chain Gang - average 24-26mph

B - Group Chain Gang - average 20-22mph

Due to the nature of this ride if you are dropped we will not wait.

During the winter months we run an autumn adventure/winter wander which is a steady ride of 16-18mph. Lights are essential!

Thursdays

From April to September

A - Group Chain Gang - average 24-26mph

B - Group Chain Gang - average 20-22mph

B - Group Evening Ride 1.5hrs with an average speed of 16-17mph

HMCC Go Ride Youth Section

From April to September

Harry Middleton Cycling Club will be holding their weekly Go Ride youth coaching sessions from April, 6.30PM until 7.30 PM, at Ormskirk High School.

Sessions will be £2 each, to help cover our costs and make the programme sustainable, hopefully continuing through the winter as well. We'll continue with British Cycling's Go-Ride curriculum, taking into account the latest developments in the Fundamentals of Movement.

Having established the Go-Ride programme for the club through your participation, we'll be working towards Clubmark Status this year to give the riders increased access to British Cycling resources.

Please contact Nick Lloyd or Matt Middleton for further information.
