Thursday STEADY chainey 12th june
I would be happy to run a chainey on the Aughton route as a training run this week. We could try to encourage the good behaviours, even pacing, when to shout 'last man', moving from the pace line to the resting line, how to sit on the back, shouts and signals. Basically, all the things that sometimes go wrong or we forget.
It would be good to have some other 'helpers', we would keep the pace down, concentrate on techniqe, maybe stop on each lap to check how everyone is doing. Look to have some good form by lap 3 and try to keep the group together for a sprint finish.
I will be at the shop and we can sort things out there or let me know what you think here.
Not as many out tonight but
Not as many out tonight but we went for the short chainey route anyway. Good first lap, no gaps, evenly paced. Second lap the pace was upped but stayed very smooth all the way round. Lap three and the pace went up again but still stayed smooth until half way up Liverpool road when the pace meant the first riders had to miss a turn and the group got stretched. The pace for the three laps was 21.7/22.5/23.6mph.
Sean went for a long one before the last two bends on Long Lane but got caught on the finising straight. Brian took the honours, although I claim his lead out for second place. A night for the golden oldies
I was waiting for a motorpaced lead out but it never happened
Wouldn't mind seeing them
Enjoyed last night first time
