Forums:

Tonight saw a very big group head off with Steve Warner on the long chainey route and a smaller group stay to do the Aughton route. A few weeks ago we started to run a STEADY Thursday chainey on the Aughton route, which has speeded up over the last few weeks.

Tonight we split the group part way through the first lap of Aughton. What we need to do is start a STEADY Thursday chainey on the short route again. I am away on hols next week so is there a volunteer to lead a STEADY Thursday chainey next week. It will be for anyone newer to chaingang rides, anyone who is getting dropped on the longer route or ayone who wants a nice STEADY but brisk ride out. I really enjoyed tonights STEADY chainey, sometimes it is niceto ride your bike without having to turn yourself inside out.yes

I'll lead a steady chainey next week Steve (as long as its dry!).

I split my ride into two at Briars Hall because there were about 35 riders. Thanks to Keith for taking the other group once we split. Next week will be back to the hills. Hope this has the effect of reducing the group size (although it never did last time).

There should be a steady Aughton chainey, even if I won't be there. Chris has offered to lead it. I think it should be kept steady so everyone can get used to the skills involved in fast group riding. Get yourself along on Thursday and give it a go.
