Another A group ride
One of the many A group rides, we headed towards Billinge but had to take a very long detour as Rainford Road was closed. A long stint on the front from Mark and Jeff towads Billinge.......was that the tailwind stretch when you wouldn't let anyone else come through? The detour took us over Moss Bank which saw Alfie's legs showing signs of inactivity for a few weeks. Charlie stayed at the back to give him a helping hand much of the time, also resting his legs after racing yesterday.
More familiar roads around Appley Bridge saw Alfie head to Southport on his own, hope you made it OK, headwind all the way!
Worked our way to Croston for some through and off on the bends before the cafe sprint up the A59. Gareth took the honours before we split up at the cafe. Coffee and cakes or carry on to get home for the match/general duties. Long headwind grind back to Ormskirk as the drizzle started, that was rain for the homeward bound group, possibly lemon drizzle for the cafe group.
