Forecast for Sunday is OK, so far, but it is sandwiched between 2 poor days therefore weather permitting I will take an A/B ride out to Rivington - 50 mile loop including two climbs (sorry Mr Brownett) - plan to stop at the Piano Bar for some much needed refuelling and refreshment before heading straight back to the shop. Should be back no later than 1pm.

If the weather is mixed then I will keep it local but after 2 recent flatish rides will probably take on a couple of local lumps, before a spin out to the flat coast.

Obviously if the weather changes and the morning is a washout I will be on my turbo in my dry garage.

Great weather and another great A/B ride - Out down dark lane to Ring O'Bells, then to Parbold via the back lanes over the cobbles (ouch). Then to Hilldale a few whispers that we were going over Hunters, but I am not that cruel taking a left just after the pub. We then climbed up past Toogood Farm and then down Tunley Lane to Wrightington. We then seemed to find the A group and followed them down Pepper Lane. However they disappeared as we headed down Bradley Hall Trading estate then over to Adlington. Where for the first time in a few weeks we got an entrant for Chinooks reject of the ride (or as many shouted w**ker of the week) as some landscaping truck gave us bearly anyroom. We had a couple of stops to fix a troublesome rear mudguard then took the main road through Horwich, past the newly named Macron Stadium.

As we hit the edge of Bolton we took a left and Matt and I rode tempo up a steep road, keeping it sensible and saving our legs for the climb of the day. Following the road along we then came past the Moss Bank Park, where we took a left to find Barrow Bridge climb which Ste Depport took us up back in the Summer. With the leaf fall and wet roads the climb was taken sensibly as we all wanted to stay upright, with one rider almost coming a cropper as we went over the bridge full of slippy leaves as his chain came off.

Cresting the climb as a group we caught our breath and let some rather spooked horses pass and then myself and Ste F (who is starting to show some form from the last few weeks hard work) took the group back to Chorley Old Road, a quick descent. The group split here with Matt leading most directly home over Blackrod, 4 of us headed to the Piano Bar, only for Simon Saunders to inform me the piano was no more which was disapointing to hear, however swift service was a priority so we ignored Rivi Barn and grabbed coffee and some food before four of us headed back via Jolly Tar Lane.

All in all another good ride, good pace, great riding by all and great to catch up with fellow riders. I cannot make the next two weeks, however Simon or Matt have volunteered to step in (in Matt's case as long as it isnt raining) - enjoy.
