Beginning as an informal meeting of riders outside the local bike shop in Ormskirk, HMCC was officially formed in 2008, named in honour of the late Harry Middleton – a well known local cyclist and owner of the bike shop.

Since 2008 the club has grown massively in popularity now having over 350 members of all ages. The club has managed to retain its casual, informal friendly attitude to cycling with the main priority being enjoyment and encouragement for riders of all abilities and experience, who just want to ride their bikes.

So, whether you'd just like to join other people on social rides, get fitter and improve your riding skills, or ride in sportives and races as a British Cycling affiliated club rider.

From April to September - Harry Middleton Cycling Club will be holding their weekly Go Ride youth coaching sessions from April, 6.30PM until 7.30 PM. Please email - info@thebicyclelounge.co.uk for further details....

I'm reasonably new to Timetrials (or Testing) so when someone mentioned BBAR to me i didnt have a clue.....a bit research provide the insight i needed:

Dave Jackson (Cervelo Dave), HMCC's power house has informed me that this year he plans to the BBAR....what's the BBAR i hear you say......

British Best All Rounder

The BBAR competition is a national event aimed at finding the time-trialists who can claim to be the best over a range of distances. However, all riders who attain the appropriate standard are recognised.

The competition is split into separate classes for Men, Women, Boys and Girls.

Andy's B Group Bash To The Trough....

on Fri, 17/04/2015 - 19:15

Andy Hardiman, Dangerous Dave and Mark Lane will lead a ride over the Trough on Sunday, leaving the shop at 08.05. We will go the opposite way to the A ride. From Preston we will head for Longridge and then up the easier side of Jeffreys Hill. We will go through Chipping and ride another 10 mies for a cafe stop at Dunsop Bridge. Refueled we will climb the Trough and then on for another stop at Scorton - hopefully just drinks from the Spa shop. Whilst the A group will have come straight up the A6, we will go down the lanes back to Preston.
The weather forecast isn't brilliant but it is forecast

After all those weeks of riding over hills next week will be flat, flat and then some more flat. Heading out to Crosby before turning north for everyone's favourite coast road blast. Cafe stop at Rufford for anyone who wants it, or a straight run back to Ormskirk.

It will be brisk and I will make sure as many as possible get a turn on the front. No hiding unless you have note from your mum.blush
