How many of us are signed up for this. I set this up as an event on Facebook and it looks like HMCC will have a great turnout. As not everyone is on Facebook it would be good to know exactly who is going so we can all confirm plans for lifts etc.

I'll be there...going to look at possible cafe stops today, although i'm sure there are others with better knowledge of the route than me.

Nice one Dan, It would be good to stop a couple of times even if one is just a quickie to fill up with water.

That way we wont have to carry two full 750ml bottles up the mountains at any stage. Lol

Titch has rode it loads of times so I am sure he can offer some advice regarding cafe stops and the ride in general.

no worries Howie....I suppose its a good a time as any to point out a few things (from experience) to any WW Virgins (i've only done it once, others please chip in)......

1. The food stations are:

a. Busy

b. not that good for stocking up (food consists of biscuits and jam cakes, tea in village halls), bottles filled up from a que at the loos.

2. If its hot its even tougher going - hydrate, lots, with the right suppliments/ juice of choice etc ....sunblock?

3. eat...eat....eat

4. some roads are very rural and as such can be gravelley or have a central strip of grass....nothing to worry about on Road tyres.

5. charge your Gamins...turn the backlight down....its a long ride

6. its worth stopping at shops enroute to stock up

7. take money for grub at any main stops

and finally.......its Fookin Hilly....i mean really, really hilly!!!!....i'll be taking this at a leisurely pace this year, i want to survive it all and not bonk (3 times last year) and enjoy it.

Anyone else??????

I am definitely not going to make it so anyone who wants it can have my place, no charge, saves it going top waste. Let me know on here or 07753 496966.

Thanks (I think) to Kevan kindly offering me his place I'm in...

Craig, do you still have space in your car? Wouldn't mind catching a lift if possible?

Sign in starts at 8am and given the distance and elevation involved I think we should set off as early as possible. Shall we aim to get to Bala for 7.45?

craig s's picture

...post here or text me your address 07775 868127 and I'll pick you up at 6.00am to be in Bala for 7.45am. Let's check the forecast later in the week as I don't fancy it if it's going to be massively wet and windy
jessiemomo's picture

Appears the majority are heading straight to Bala for 7.45.

Makes sense as it is an early enough set off without a detour to the shop.

I'll be heading down with Neil Pollington ....parking at the fire station on the A494 (station Rd) as you come into Bala...loads of spaces, you need to pay, toliets available. The start is 2mins away....see you there (unless weather is truely abismal!)
