Everesting Ashurst Beacon
Tomorrow morning Me and Chris garman are going to attempt the everest challenge climbing the equivalent height of everest on one of our local hills, From Dalton park up beacon lane to the summit at the prince william.
We will have to climb this hill approximately 91 times to gain the amount of elevation required for this challenge
Starting at 5(ish) in the morning we will be riding for up to 20 hours depending on fitness levels and how we are feeling on the day.
I have decided to open a just giving page for the clatterbridge cancer charity, my nan and dad spent time there undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy and would love to do something in return (no ice buckets to be seen)
i would love for you all to come up and enjoy this challenge with me and chris take part in a few reps of the hill and generally show support,
my just giving page is here if you wish to donate.

all donations are welcome be it a pound or more i am not bothered
thanks for being a great cycling club and hopefully i will see you up there tomorrow smiling and urging us both on!
god speed!

Can't make it out to support
Can't make it out to support you on the climb, epic challenge, hope it goes well. I was able to visit your Just Giving page though, which everyone can do!
Ouch!
Not going to lie that was the toughest day on the bike I've ever done! Close to giving up when the Garmin died at 70 ish reps but got some tremendous support and of course couldn't leave Slick Rick on his own! Some amazing help from the club lots of guys and girls doing reps with us and getting us food, Ricks mum and my Mrs ran the food stop all day at the Prince William counting the reps away. Legs are a tad sore today but the good news is we made it 0530am to just before 4am the next morning and made the hall of fame. Think we have done around 200 quid for Clatterbridge too! 98 or 99 reps? A lot!

we are at the bottom of the page nice to see the beacon now has a peak on it with a HMCC flag ;)
Fantastic achievement, well
Fantastic achievement, well done to both of you.
I thought you might have come out for the club run Sunday though
hahahahah
Steve i was contemplating it but only got to bed at 5 in the morning, i awoke 5 hours later and couldnt get back to sleep so i ended up staying up and sorted the garmin data out with my brother.
I think i am going to be doing the S.S.S.S hells 500 too this year so i need an iconic hillclimb to complete it on any suggestions other than the Bwlch will do
hahahahah

Just looked up what SSSS
Just looked up what SSSS Hells 500 is about.......you are truly nuts
There are lots of iconic climbs. You missed the Hirnant Valley on th club weekend, a great climb. There was als t gedclimb from th bottom of Bala on the Sunday.
You did Grea Dun Fell, that woudl be good and very traffic free.
Nearer to home, Trough of Bowland, Nick o Pendle, Jubilee Tower.
A bit further over Ramsbotton Rake is short and might be classed as a metro climb.
I am sure there will be lots of suggestions. Have a look a the Top 100 climbs too.
Good luck
