Beginning as an informal meeting of riders outside the local bike shop in Ormskirk, HMCC was officially formed in 2008, named in honour of the late Harry Middleton – a well known local cyclist and owner of the bike shop.

Since 2008 the club has grown massively in popularity now having over 350 members of all ages. The club has managed to retain its casual, informal friendly attitude to cycling with the main priority being enjoyment and encouragement for riders of all abilities and experience, who just want to ride their bikes.

So, whether you'd just like to join other people on social rides, get fitter and improve your riding skills, or ride in sportives and races as a British Cycling affiliated club rider.

From April to September - Harry Middleton Cycling Club will be holding their weekly Go Ride youth coaching sessions from April, 6.30PM until 7.30 PM. Please email - info@thebicyclelounge.co.uk for further details....

Wednesday Morning Spin.

on Mon, 16/03/2015 - 14:53

Forecast is looking good for the week ahead, especially Wednesday. Thinking of heading out for a ride, route / destination is flexible. 10am meet at the shop prompt. I need to be back by 1300 / 1330 at the latest really. Pace will be A / fast B group pace. Hills are guarenteed whatever way we go. They make us stronger. (Posted on Facebook as well)

Alt A ride - 15th March

on Fri, 13/03/2015 - 13:21

If Mothers Day hits the numbers at the shop I will jump in with Ste Depport's A ride.

However if numbers mean a big A group then I will take an Alt A ride - still sorting a route but probably Stoney, Appley Bridge, Shevington then flat looping round to Rufford for 11:30 and back to Ormskirk for 12ish if you don't want to stop to get back to spend time with your Mum's.

Mothers Day A group

on Wed, 11/03/2015 - 08:39

A few hills to start, Ashurst, Shaley and then up through Shevington. After that pretty flat all the way up to Leyland then turning south through Bretheron, Croston, Rufford and back to Ormskirk.

Cafe stop in Rufford if you want one, or carry straight on back to Ormskirk for about 12.30pm.

Happy Mothers Day
