Rider ability:
Estimated Distance:
75 miles

Just under two weeks now until we try and get one of planned rides up and running, after the weather rather ruined our plans last time round.

The Peak District ride was great last year and now is your chance to sign up for another "epic" ride. I am still tinkering with the route but below is the probably route - the good news for 2015 is that I wont be killing everyone by putting Mow Cop in!

This year we will start in Disley at 8:30, think I have a found a free car park, then ride 20km to warm up the legs before taking on Snake Pass. We then get a long and fast descent before climbing Winnats Pass (no 33 in the 100 climbs book, so another to tick off). We then head to Pott Shrigley where we will stop for coffee and cake before heading to Macclesfield and then climbing the Cat and Fiddle. We then descend into the beautiful Goyt valley before climbing back out and home.

Stats

116km

2,300m of climbing

As discussed at the last club meeting this will be A paced but if enough B's want to come then happy to share details to a group leader. Will upload a gpx one I have finalised things.

Ride Date:
Sun, 19/07/2015
Departing time:
8:30 A.M.
Departing from:
The Bicycle Lounge, Moor Street, Ormskirk

A few people asked on Sunday so for clarity:

Car Park - according to the web this is free all day:

Library & Community Centre
Buxton Old Road
Cheshire
Disley SK12 2DX

Want to be off by 8:30 so aim to arrive by 8:15.

I have found a coffee shop in Pott Shrigley so aim to stop for refreshments just over halfway round. This may change as I am speaking to a local cyclist who knows the area better than my random google search.

With holidays etc we have about 5 or 6 A riders so the group wont be too big therefore if any B riders want to come along then please do, we will keep the pace steady and NO ONE will be left behind. Any A riders can still play on the hills and "strava bag" and we will regroup.

GPX file now uploaded for those that want to have the route in their GPS's
