Great Dun Fell - Sunday 17th May

on Mon, 27/04/2015 - 09:12

This trip is the next one up on the calendar so time to get organised.

The route will be the same as last year (thanks to Neil Poll) but we will go clockwise, the other way around to last year.

Starting in Kendal it is 85 miles and 8,000ft of climbing. Starting with Shap Fell, then Great Dun Fell, cafe in Appleby, back to Kendal.

Great Dun Fell is unique and you really need to ride it. A dead end road up to a radar station, restricted for cars so pretty much traffic free. A 4.5 mile climb of 2,100ft with an awesome descent.

We will ride as a group, the distance and climbing will dictate a

Andy's B Group Bash To The Trough....

on Fri, 17/04/2015 - 19:15

Andy Hardiman, Dangerous Dave and Mark Lane will lead a ride over the Trough on Sunday, leaving the shop at 08.05. We will go the opposite way to the A ride. From Preston we will head for Longridge and then up the easier side of Jeffreys Hill. We will go through Chipping and ride another 10 mies for a cafe stop at Dunsop Bridge. Refueled we will climb the Trough and then on for another stop at Scorton - hopefully just drinks from the Spa shop. Whilst the A group will have come straight up the A6, we will go down the lanes back to Preston.
The weather forecast isn't brilliant but it is forecast
