Beginning as an informal meeting of riders outside the local bike shop in Ormskirk, HMCC was officially formed in 2008, named in honour of the late Harry Middleton – a well known local cyclist and owner of the bike shop.

Since 2008 the club has grown massively in popularity now having over 350 members of all ages. The club has managed to retain its casual, informal friendly attitude to cycling with the main priority being enjoyment and encouragement for riders of all abilities and experience, who just want to ride their bikes.

So, whether you'd just like to join other people on social rides, get fitter and improve your riding skills, or ride in sportives and races as a British Cycling affiliated club rider.

From April to September - Harry Middleton Cycling Club will be holding their weekly Go Ride youth coaching sessions from April, 6.30PM until 7.30 PM. Please email - info@thebicyclelounge.co.uk for further details....

Flat 'Steady' Ride

on Mon, 10/11/2014 - 22:18

Weather permitting I'm looking to get out for a few hours this Wednesday. After spending the last couple of weeks out in the hills over Rivi and Belmont,  a few flat miles is the choice of the day! Probably about 50 / 60 miles give or take, A/B group pace depending on people turning up. 10am prompt at the shop. Will post on Facebook as well.

2 do Nationals up Pea Royd...stripped down with the best in the UK!!

on Mon, 27/10/2014 - 16:11

Yesterday (27.10.14) 2 of HMCC's club members and now official HMCC Grimpeurs (read that as mountain goats....nutters....skinny whippets) took to the slope of Pea Royd Lane in Sheffield for the 2014 National Hill Climb Championships......yes thats right NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS..........

The best the UK has to offer when it comes to going up hill on 2 wheels!!!

Tom (100) and Rick (78) both gave monumental efforts up what i would call a 'shit kicker' of a hill (and one that still hurts my quads from just walking up and down) .....
