Aaargghh!!! why do these rides always happen when I'm on holiday. Would have loved this, sounds like a great day out.

Enjoy and embrace the pain people smiley

First possibility, that we don't want you kicking our a***s on the hills so we check your holiday dates before planning these.

The second, you are a scaredy cat who plans holidays to avoid big rides.

Weigh up the evidence and make your choicecheeky

Ok full details for the big ride out in the Lakes.

1 - This is weather dependant - if the forecast is iffy keep an eye out on here to see if it will run or not. The descents are tough in the dry in the wet I will probably pull the ride.

2 - Timings - Arrive at 8:30 for a roll out at 8:45 at the latest.

3 - Meeting place - Lakside car park, LA12 8AT there are 300 spaces so we should be fine - £3.50 for 8 hours parking, bring change! Right on the starting point of the strava map.

4 - Map and gpx - Updated version here - https://www.strava.com/routes/2457234 - Please can ppl download and have on various devices just in case.

5 - Food and drink - Still deciding on a possible cafe stop, if we do then it will be after all the major climbs so more of a social stop than a proper refuel for the rest of the ride - so please bring food and drink to get you round - if the weather is hot then we will stop for a shop bottle refill - but make sure you have gels, rice cakes etc

6 - Pace - A pace but no hooliganism - plan will be to get round in good time but not to blow up before the big three climbs, set KOMs on the climbs not on some piddly little rise 10km in.

Anything else give message on here or usual social media.
